Richard, you were the calmest, most thoughtful person. You were able to frame issues. You were one of the best mathematicians ever, because you could explain complex issues in a simple way and frame the problem. You provided input and guidance during my career over many years. I will miss our conversations and our work together. You were also a good friend and we had good times together. I will always remember our sushi lunch in London, when I inhaled a bit too much of the wasabi and spent much of the time in tears. You just chuckled.
